London Lions v Paris Basketball: 'Do or die' in EuroCup semi-final second leg, says Conor Morgan

London Lions have called on their fans to roar them back into contention in Friday's "do-or-die" EuroCup semi-final second leg at the Copper Box Arena.

The Lions hope to join the club's women's team in becoming the first British sides to make a European final.

To do so they must overturn a 1-0 deficit in the best-of-three semi-final, having lost the first leg 99-86 in Paris on Tuesday.

A win at the sold-out Copper Box would force a decider in Paris on Tuesday.

"I've already forgotten about what happened in the first game, we've got another one in front of us that's a lot more important," Lions forward Conor Morgan, 29, told BBC London Sport.

"It's a do-or-die game for us, our season will end or it will continue, so I'm looking forward to it."

The Lions finished third out of 10 teams in their group, with the top six sides qualifying for the knockout phase.

Wins against Turk Telekom Ankara and U-BT Cluj-Napoca, of Romania, followed to set up the semi-final against Paris.

And centre Josh Sharma has no doubt a big atmosphere at the Copper Box, built for the 2012 Olympic Games in Stratford, can lift the players to a win that would level the tie.

"I was out for our first home game against Paris [a 106-102 victory for the visitors in October] but I think that was our best home crowd of the season so far - so if our fans can bring that same energy for this Friday, that'll definitely make a big impact and help us out a lot," the 27-year-old American said.

London Lions Women will face Besiktas in a two-legged EuroCup final, beginning away in Istanbul on Wednesday.

The men's team won a narrow contest 83-80 in the Turkish capital in November and Morgan's message to the fans before their final is: "Bring your earplugs, I'm sure it'll be loud.

"Good luck to them [the women's team], I'm sure they'll bring it home and I've got a lot of confidence in them."

Sharma added: "It's been amazing to see what they've been able to accomplish this year, I think both us and them have made huge strides these last couple of years and the best of luck to them, they've got a loaded roster and we all believe in them."

London Lions' EuroCup semi-final second leg against Paris takes place at Copper Box Arena on Friday, 29 March at 19:30 GMT, before London Lions Women face Besiktas in the first leg of their EuroCup final at Besiktas Akatlar Arena, in Istanbul, on Wednesday, 3 April at 18:30 BST.
