Dreams FC coach, Karim Zito, has emphasized the need for Ghanaian football giants, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, to regain their form to re-energize Ghana football.

Speaking ahead of Dreams FC's CAF Confederations Cup clash against Stade Malien, Zito expressed his candid views on the current state of Ghana football.

Zito asserted that Hearts of Oak and Kotoko are synonymous with Ghana football, and their consistent performance in African games is crucial for the nation's football reputation. He lamented that the current decline in their performance has led to a negative perception of Ghana football.

"Ghana football is Hearts of Oak and Kotoko let me be honest with you Hearts of Oak and Kotoko are Ghana football. Assuming Hearts and Kotoko are consistent in African games will you say Ghana football has finished no it hasn't but those we are looking up to that will do the thing their level is now down," he told Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com

"So if they lift themselves up nobody will say that Ghana football has spoilt because we and Al Ahly started life together now look we they are see where Kotoko is they are still struggling even to win the league is a problem. So the mentality is what is worrying us before you apportion blame you need to sit down and do critical analysis for yourself you will see where the problem is from.

"So me when Dreams went to Africa then I said no it is not about Ghana football has spoilt it is the lack of consistency from Kotoko and Hearts that has made everybody say that our football has spoilt. Like Kotoko and Hearts lifted themselves like the way we and Medeama have done you see people saying our football is doing well because they are ruling Ghana football because every country has a team ruling football in the country so when they make things good and they start playing Africa nobody will say our football level is down,"
