KASHIF JOINS SELECT BAND AFTER EDGBASTON HEROICS WITH BAT

Kashif Ali joined a select band of Worcestershire players when scoring two centuries in the same game in the Vitality County Championship encounter with Warwickshire at Edgbaston.

The 26-year-old became the 11th Worcestershire player since the Second World War to achieve the feat after his memorable 110 and 133 against The Bears.

Graeme Hick (1990, 1998, 1999 and 2006) and Daryl Mitchell (2010, 2014, 2016 and 2018) achieved the feat on four occasions during that period.

Glenn Turner (1972, and twice in 1981) scored two tons in a game on three occasions and Tom Moody (1995 and 1996) twice.

Turner was the only Worcestershire player before Kashif to score two centuries in a game against Warwickshire.

He hit 122 and 128 not out against Warwickshire at Edgbaston in 1972 and repeated the feat with 147 not out and 139 at New Road nine years later.

Eddie Cooper (1946), Ron Headley (1971), Alan Ormrod (1980), Stephen Peters (2004), Moeen Ali (2013) and Joe Clarke (2017) managed it once since the World War Two.
