The Latest | Israel says it will respond to Iran’s attack as world leaders urge restraint

By The Associated Press

Israel’s military chief says the country will respond to Iran’s missile strike over the weekend. Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi said Monday that Israel is still considering its steps but that the Iranian strike of missiles and attack drones “will be met with a response.” World leaders have been urging Israel not to retaliate. In the West Bank, Palestinian officials say two Palestinian men have been killed in an attack by Israeli settlers. The area has been tense after a 14-year-old Israeli boy was killed in what Israel said was a nationalistic attack. Settlers have responded with violent assaults in a number of Palestinian communities.
