Scottie Scheffler shows light side amid Masters mastery, but you won’t guess how

After winning the Masters and returning home to Dallas, Scottie Scheffler showed a side rarely seen in the public eye.

Jack Milko Jack Milko has been playing golf since he was five years old. He has yet to record a hole-in-one, but he did secure an M.A. in Sports Journalism from St. Bonaventure University.

Scottie Scheffler won The Masters in historic fashion Sunday, claiming his second Green Jacket in a three-year span.

After doing so, he fulfilled his media obligations, posed for pictures in front of the 18th green, spoke to the press, and then headed straight to the Augusta airport.

He flew home to Dallas, Texas, to see his wife, Meredith, who is eight months pregnant with their first child. But immediately after going home, Scheffler visited his local dive bar, the Inwood Taven, located near the Dallas Love Field airport.

The Inwood Tavern did not appear packed, but Scheffler posed for pictures with some employees in his newly minted Green Jacket.

His entire wardrobe did not change either, except for a blue cap, with “Texas” spelled on the front.

Scheffler’s victory at Augusta National marked his third victory in his last four starts, all of which have come since the beginning of March. He won the Arnold Palmer Invitational amid tough conditions, stormed back to seize The Players by a stroke, and then won The Masters by four shots.

His only non-win came at the Texas Children’s Houston Open, where he missed a 6-footer for birdie on the 72nd hole to lose by one to Stephan Jaeger.

Despite that, Scheffler remains the top player in the world and now has two Green Jackets to his name, so he had plenty of reason to celebrate at his local dive bar.
