Tabitha Foundation, Ogun Community Leaders Empower Residents

 In order to cushion the effect of the current economic hardship and mass unemployment in the country, Tabitha New Life Foundation, in collaboration with Ifesowapo Community Development Association (CDA), Omu Arogun (Phase 1) and Itesiwaju Omu Arogun Area Community Development Committee (ACDC) has organised a one-day skill acquisition and empowerment programme for all widows and able-bodied women within the community. The programme, which will hold on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Jide Awotedu Football Pitch, Leadway Estate, off Ifesowapo CDA, off Mowe-Ofada Road, Mowe, Ogun State is expected to create jobs for no fewer than 100 community dwellers. 

The foundation, under her president, Amb. Adunke O. Olatunji will train participants on how to make fast moving consumables such as methylated balm, talc powder, olive oil, germicides, liquid soap, among others. 

Olatunji, in a statement said the foundation is passionate to human emancipation: 

Her words: “The society is made up of different groups contributing immensely to its development. It is noteworthy that everyone is essential in building the society to live up to expectations.

“The economic situations being witnessed in the country today can be cushioned with certain efforts of empowerment by extending it to some less privileged and indigent ones such as widows who can hardly generate any income.” 

She said the need for the collaboration with the community is to further “extend our services and humanitarian gestures to empower 𝟲𝟬  𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻.” 

In his reaction, chairman of Ifesowapo CDA, Soji Adeyehun said part of the concerns of the community leaders is to create way of supporting the people to overcome the harsh economy. “We will stop at nothing to educate our people on the way to survive the biting economy. The programme will be a great avenue to move on,” he said. 

Also, the Area Chairman of Itesiwaju Omu Arogun ACDC, Pastor Yemi Adebisi that this effort is a clue to better life. “When people are empowered either through finance or knowledge, their lives can never remain the same. We are doing our best to contribute our quota to augment government efforts as community leaders.”
