Osimhen’s summer departure divides Napoli’s dressing room
The long expected summer transfer of Nigeria international striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli is reportedly causing disaffection within the rank and file of the former Serie A champions team.
Napoli owner, Aurelio De Laurentiis(ADL) , is said to be unhappy that many of the side’s stars are pressing for a move away from the Napoli following the long negotiation to extend Osimhen’s contract in the first part of the season divided the dressing room.
Italian outlet, La Gazzetta dello Sport, claimed the Napoli President is so upset with players that everyone, including Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Giovanni Di Lorenzo, will be free to leave in the summer if they are unhappy at the club.
The defending Serie A champions are having a terrible season, with only 49 points in 33 matches. They are at risk of not even qualifying for a European competition following Saturday’s 1-0 loss to strugglers Empoli and President De Laurentiis seems to be fed up with all his players.

The report further said that unhappy players will be free to leave in the summer transfer window as long as the club receives a suitable offer.
The report revealed that ADL no longer wants unhappy players at the club after the long negotiation to extend Osimhen’s contract in the first part of the season divided the dressing room with words rife that
Kvaratskhelia, Stanislav Lobotka and Captain Di Lorenzo will be allowed to leave if they no longer want to stay at the Maradona.
The same is true of Osimhen, who has a clause worth € 120m-130m, but the Partenopei have been prepared to part company with Nigeria for several months.
Osimhen has been subject of intense transfer rumours with claims that London giants Chelsea and Arsenal as well as Qatari-backed French top side, Paris Saint Germain amongst the leading teams looking for the signature of the Super Eagles’ forward.
