Rangers manager Philippe Clement is relieved to see Cyriel Dessers play huge in the club’s qualification for Scottish Cup final.

Dessers, on Sunday, scored twice as the Gers defeated Hearts to seal their place in the May final.

The Nigerian has come under heavy criticisms from the media, especially costing the team points against Dundee United.

“These last six months have been the best six months of Cyriel’s career, and we’ll keep pushing him on,” Philippe Clement said.

“He’s honest, he works really hard for the team. He’s scoring a lot of goals. Can he make more goals? Yes, but I don’t know any striker in the world who scores all their chances.

“We are in a title chase, we are in a cup final, and we are really hungry for more trophies.”

Dessers has nineteen goals across all competitions for the Gers this season.

He joined the club last summer after an unsuccessful spell in Italy with Cremonese.
