NSCDC, Army Strategise On Enhanced Security In Anambra

AWKA  – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) Anambra State Com­mand has met with the Nigerian Army to strategize on how to improve security in Anambra State.

This is coming on the heels of reports of cult killings in Awka, Anambra State capital, and kidnappings by herdsmen in Ukwulu-Nawgu, Nawgu-Isuaniocha and Nawgu- Enugu-Agidi Roads in Du­nukofia Local Government Area, which is also within the state capital territory.

The Public Relations Officer of NSC­DC, Anambra State Command, Mr. Ok­adigbo Edwin revealed the partnership in a press statement made available to the media in Awka.

Okadigbo said the resolve was made during a courtesy call by the state com­mandant of the corps, Mr Olatunde Maku to the Commander, 302 Artillery Regiment of Nigerian Army, Onitsha, Anambra State, Col. M. B. Abubakar.

Maku who sought the collaboration of the army to tackle the insecurity in Anambra said: “Most of the confidence we have as NSCDC personnel is as a re­sult of the Nigerian Army. “You remem­ber when I resumed my tour of duty, I saw the existing relationship between all security agencies and I keyed into it.

“I am proud to say that you have not disappointed me in executing our core mandate in the protection of Critical National, State and Local Government Assets and infrastructure. We have sought for your synergy and I am hap­py to say, you have without hesitation availed us. Thank you for always part­nering with us.
