Appeal Court holds valedictory for late Justice Orji-Abadua 

The Court of Appeal in Abuja Thursday held a valedictory session in honour of one of its own, the late Hon. Justice Theresa Ngolika Orji-Abadua.

Before her demise, the late jurist who died on the 8th of March, 2024 was the former presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Benin Division.

Delivering a speech at the event, the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, SAN called for reflection on the life and times of the late Justice.

AGF Fagbemi noted further that considering her contributions to the pursuit of justice, equality, fairness and integrity and other principles she passionately advocated throughout her career, the late Judge according to him lived an accomplished life.

“What the biography leaves us with is rich and admirable background which is a solid foundation upon which our departed justice erected her pillar or structure of a beautiful legal edifice.

“She has not only served as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring legal professionals, she has also contributed to the shaping of legal precedents and leaving a lasting impact on our judicial landscape,”Fagbemi added.

In her speech, the President, Court of Appeal, Justice Dongban-Mensem told the session that the late Ngolika died in active service.

The president noted further: “though she has gone, but her contributions to the development of the law will remain and continue to help the jurisprudence to grow.”
