Alasdair Gold shares what he’s heard about Pedro Porro’s fitness ahead of Tottenham vs Arsenal

Tottenham head into this weekend’s north London derby with a few selection issues to contend with.

Indeed, Destiny Udogie is out of action, while Ange Postecoglou’s midfield has been all over the place for some time now.

There’s also an issue at right-back, Pedro Porro has been named as a doubt heading into this game, but, luckily, it sounds as though there is some good news on this front.

Speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Alasdair Gold has claimed that early suggestions are that Porro will be fit for this weekend’s game, but confirmation is needed.

Gold shared what he’s heard about the defender.

“Elsewhere it looks like potentially Pedro Porro could be back. We’re waiting confirmation on that in the press conference tomorrow, but there are early suggestions that he might be in contention, but all you need is one training session where it doesn’t look right or some individual training where it doesn’t look right,” Gold said.

Pedro Porro’s fitness is a big boost for Tottenham

This is a serious boost for Tottenham ahead of this weekend’s derby.

There’s every reason to believe that this game could be won and lost down the wings.

As we all know, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are Arsenal’s two most important attacking players, and they operate on the flanks, while Arsenal’s biggest defensive weakness is arguably at left-back, and with Porro back in the team, they could well exploit that weakness.

Porro may be a defender, but make no mistake about it, the right-back is at his best when he is bombing forward, and if he is on the pitch he will be able to give Arsenal something different to think about in a defensive sense.
