Bruno Guimaraes says he’d love to see £51m player sign for Newcastle

Newcastle United are the richest club in the world, but, unfortunately, they’re not able to just go out and sign whoever they want.

Indeed, Profit and Sustainability rules in the Premier League have shackled the Magpies’ spending.

Newcastle have the money to go out and build a super team, but the rules don’t permit that level of spending.

Every Newcastle fan will have dreamt up a fantasy transfer window at some point with immense spending, and speaking to Fubo, Bruno Guimaraes has now named the one player he would sign for Newcastle if he could.

The player Bruno Guimaraes would sign for Newcastle

Unsurprisingly, Guimaraes named his good friend, Lucas Paqueta, as the player he’d like to sign for Newcastle.

“If you could add any player in the world to Newcastle who would it be?

“I would say Lucas Paqueta, my best friend,” Guimaraes said.

Guimaraes and Paqueta would be incredible for Newcastle

Of course, this is a bit of a pipe dream at the moment, but we can’t help but salivate over the idea of Guimaraes and Paqueta playing together in this Newcastle side.

Add Joelinton into the mix and you have a perfectly balanced midfield trio made up entirely of Brazilians.

Paqueta wouldn’t be cheap. After all, he cost West Ham £51m and his stock has only risen since that move, but if Newcastle could pull this one off they would be getting a serious player.

Unfortunately, getting such a deal done is probably out of Newcastle’s reach, but if the Magpies do find a way to get around the Premier League’s strict spending rules this summer, going out and signing Paqueta certainly wouldn’t be a bad idea.
