Swiggy has been told to pay Rs 3,000 as compensation and Rs 2,000 as litigation costs to a customer for not delivering the "Nutty Death by Chocolate" ice cream ordered through the food delivery app. The Bangalore Urban II Additional District Consumer Redressal Commission also directed Swiggy to refund the amount of Rs 187 paid by the customer while ordering. On January 26, 2023, the customer ordered "Nutty Death by Chocolate" ice cream from the Cream Stone Ice Cream restaurant using Swiggy. Although the ice cream was not delivered, the status on the Swiggy app was shown as ‘delivered’. Following this, the customer demanded a refund. After Swiggy failed to refund the amount, the customer initiated legal action against the food delivery app. Beware!
