JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State pounded out 16 hits and used three different pitchers to even the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series with a 5-3 victory over Florida A&M at Braddy Field on Saturday.

Jackson State (27-15, 10-10 SWAC) fell behind in the first but battled back with a pair of two-run innings in the third and fourth to take the lead for good. They were able to hold on with a pair of relievers keeping Florida A&M (21-21, 16-4 SWAC) at bay for the final 2.1 innings for the win.
CJ Lewis worked a scoreless 0.2 inning allowing a pair of baserunners on with walks before
Christian Womble picked up his fifth save working the final 1.2 innings and striking out two.

They were in relief of
Erick Gonzalez (2-2) who worked 6.2 innings allowing three runs on six hits with four strikeouts.

Meanwhile,
Robert Tate Jr. led the offensive attack going 4-for-5 with a run and RBI while
Joseph Eichelberger finished 3-for-5 with a run and RBI, and
Jaelen Williams finished 3-for-5.
Chance Pollard finished 2-for-3 with an RBI in the win.

How It Happened
- (T1) Broedy Poppell doubled down the right field line to drive in Ty Jackson before Adam Haidermota drove in another with a sacrifice fly, Florida A&M 2-0.
- (B3) Myles White scored on a throwing error on a failed pick-off attempt at third before Pollard doubled to left center to score Williams, 2-2.
- (B4) Eichelberger singled to right to drive in Tate followed by a Williams single to right center to score Eichelberger, Jackson State 4-2.
- (T5) Poppell singled through the right side to score Jackson, Jackson State 4-3.
- (B5) Tate doubled down the right field line to score Jordan McCladdie, Jackson State 5-3.
