Vanessa Feltz has joined LBC as the station’s newest presenter after it was confirmed that Sangita Myska has left as part of new ‘changes’ at the broadcaster.

Fans were left concerned last week when Myska appeared to have ‘disappeared’ from LBC having been off the air for a few weeks.

On Wednesday, after much speculation online, the phone-in and talk radio outlet confirmed that she has officially left as part of a shake-up, which includes former TalkTV star Feltz joining for a new weekend show.

LBC’s senior managing editor Tom Cheal said: ‘As part of the changes, Sangita Myska is leaving the station at the end of her contract, after nearly two years with the station.’

‘We’d like to thank Sangita for her fantastic contribution to LBC and we wish her every success in the future.’

While LBC hasn’t confirmed that she has been replaced, they did simultaneously announce that veteran TV presenter Feltz would be joining the show in a slot that overlaps with Myska’s afternoon Saturday and Sunday shows, which ran from 1pm-4pm.

Feltz, 62, will now be hosting her own three-hour programme every Saturday from 3pm- 6pm.

The show is set to offer ‘opinion, analysis and deep dives into what matters to the British public.’

Fans have been completely outraged by this change of scheduling and have rushed to defend Myska on social media.

@ZoeJardiniere commented on X ‘Sending love to @SangitaMyska- Absolutely terrible behaviour from @LBC casually announcing a new presenter in her place without even addressing her disappearance from the airwaves. Hope she’s ok and knows how many of us are appalled at her treatment & proud of her journalism.’

Another fan, @fascinatorfun added: ‘Dear Lord. How low has @lbc sunk. The idea that Vanessa Feltz can begin to fill the shoes of the superb @SangitaMyska.’

@stuzi_pants commented: ‘I have absolutely nothing against Vanessa Feltz but one thing I do know, she ain’t no Sangita Myska, and the abject snidery being displayed by @LBC in their silence on the matter, and sneaky injection of a new presenter is barrel scraping on steroids.’

Feltz said of her new job: ‘After a long and passionate courtship, I’ve finally succumbed to the allure of LBC.

‘Actually, I was powerless to resist. Global’s dynamism is mesmerising and it is THE high-octane station from which to broadcast, in this riveting election year.’

She then revealed that she will be getting stuck into the role soon and her first episode will air this weekend.

‘Brace yourself for May 4th – May the fourth be with you!’ she said.

Cheal added: ‘Vanessa is a leading light in broadcasting who is outspoken, incisive and understands what matters to LBC listeners. We’re delighted to have her on board.’

Myska’s departure from the show is a surprise to loyal listeners and many were confused when the presenter’s show was cut from the air last weekend.

Following her absence, rumours began circling about the journalist’s whereabouts with many wondering if her show had been axed. One listener, David Noble, set up a petition, asking for the star to be reinstated, which currently has just under 25,000 signatures.

Myska has remained silent about her departure from the show. However, fans think that she cryptically hinted that she was on gardening leave. The presenter posted images of flowers on her Instagram with the caption: ‘Gardening…’

The journalist first began working on her LBC show in June 2022. Before her stint on LBC, Myska had a long career at the BBC and presented several radio and current affair programmes, including a podcast dedicated to reporting on the daily proceedings into the Grenfell Tower fire public inquiry.

As part of the LBC shake-up, political commentator Ali Miraj will have two weekend shows, and Iain Dale’s programme will be extended.

Last week, Feltz announced that she would be stepping down from TalkTV in a move that shocked loyal fans.

‘I’ve had the most fabulous two years at TalkTV,’ she said.

‘As TalkTV steps back from linear TV, it’s time for me to also step back and focus on my other commitments and new projects ahead.’

It appears that her new role at LBC may have been what the presenter was referring to as she teased her social media followers, telling them that this would be a ‘career high’.

‘It should be illegal to be this excited,’ Feltz told her 391k followers in an Instagram story.

‘Am I allowed to be this delighted about a career high? Oh my gosh, I’ve been waiting on this one for years and years!’
