Nicole Brown Simpson Murder Reexamined In Four-Part Lifetime Docuseries On 30th Anniversary Of Her Death

A new four-part docuseries about the late Nicole Brown Simpson has secured its release date.

The Life and Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson will air over two nights — June 1 and 2 — on Lifetime at 8 p.m. ET/PT, per People. According to the network, the docuseries is set to be “in honor of the 30th anniversary of her death,” which took place on the night of June 12, 1994.

O.J. Simpson and Nicole wed in 1985, but the latter filed for divorce in 1992, per TODAY. O.J. was accused of killing both Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman in 1994, leading to an 11-month-long trial in which he was ultimately acquitted. However, he was found liable for their deaths in a civil trial in 1997.

On April 10, 2024, O.J. died at age 76 following a battle with prostate cancer.

The Life and Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson is “part of Lifetime’s Stop Violence Against Women initiative and in collaboration with the National Domestic Abuse Hotline,” per The Hollywood Reporter.

The YouTube description of the trailer, which was released by Lifetime on Thursday, states that the “documentary provides an opportunity for Nicole’s own narrative and voice to be heard in one of the most notorious crimes and trials in history.”

Brown Simpson’s sisters Denise, Dominique and Tanya Brown, who are among the 50 participants featured in the docuseries, shared the following statement in a press release, per People:

“What happened to our sister Nicole should never have happened to her or to any other woman. Her life was stolen from her and while her abuser is finally gone, it doesn’t take away the anguish we feel or the pain of her children who lost their mother. We hope that by sharing Nicole’s story, it will help others recognize the signs and get the help they need and her legacy will continue to live on.”
