Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has dropped his reaction to teammate Jadon Sancho’s stunning Champions League performance for Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.
Jadon Sancho dazzled in the Champions League semi-finals and made his presence felt for Borussia Dortmund against Paris Saint-Germain in the first-leg tie.
The 24-year-old winger was lively in the encounter against PSG and Sancho earned rave reviews for his performance, including from United legend Rio Ferdinand.
Dortmund have taken advantage in the Champions League semi-final after Niclas Fullkrug scored in the 1-0 win over PSG at the Westfalenstadion.
PSG will host the German club in the return leg at the Parc des Princes on 7th May, with both sides vying for a place in the final in June.
Either PSG or Dortmund will face Real Madrid or Bayern Munich in the Champions League final at Wembley on 1st June.
Sancho makes his mark for Dortmund
Jadon Sancho returned to Germany in January for a six-month loan spell after he was frozen out of the Manchester United first team in 2023.
The United misfit had made a name for himself in his first spell at Borussia Dortmund before his blockbuster move to Old Trafford in 2021.
However, Sancho has struggled to replicate his Dortmund form at United and the former England international has underwhelmed at the Red Devils.
The United loanee was excluded from the Red Devils’ first team after his falling out with Erik ten Hag, who had publicly criticised Sancho last September.
United boss Erik ten Hag revealed why Sancho had failed to make his squad for the Premier League clash against Arsenal before the player hit back on social media.
Sancho has impressed at times during his return to Dortmund, with the former Three Lions winger scoring three times in 17 appearances for the German club.
Fernandes’ reaction to Sancho’s display
Dortmund taunted United fans on social media after Sancho produced a superb performance against PSG in the Champions League semi-final tie.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka was among the United players who reacted to Sancho’s display, while Vinicius Junior and Leon Bailey dropped their verdicts on the Dortmund star.
Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero, on the other hand, made his feelings clear on the United loanee after watching Sancho in action in the Champions League.
Sancho took to social media after the match and sent a clear message out to fans after Dortmund took control of the Champions League tie against PSG.
Bruno Fernandes commented on Sancho’s Instagram post and the United captain appeared to approve of his teammate’s impressive showing.
The 29-year-old Portugal midfielder simply reacted by leaving a face-exhaling emoji, as Fernandes needed no words to describe what he saw from Sancho.
