Cubana Chief Priest found himself entangled in legal woes with the Commission over alleged offenses related to the misuse of Nigerian currency. Initially, he faced charges at the Federal High Court in Lagos on April 17, where he was accused of three counts, including the spraying and manipulation of naira notes during a social event held at Eko Hotel.

Maintaining his innocence, Cubana Chief Priest entered a plea of not guilty to the charges leveled against him. Following his plea, he was granted bail in the sum of N10 million by Justice Kehinde Ogundare. Subsequently, the court adjourned the case until May 2 for the hearing of preliminary objections and the commencement of the trial.

During the most recent court session held on Thursday, both Cubana Chief Priest and the prosecuting counsels representing the EFCC reached an agreement to settle the matter out of court. As a result, the trial was adjourned until June 5 to allow for the hearing of the settlement report, indicating a potential resolution to the legal dispute outside of formal courtroom proceedings.

Late on Thursday, the Instagram influencer took to the platform to advise Nigerians to steer clear of trouble.

While lamenting his ordeal, Cubana urged Nigerians to ensure they steer clear of the anti-graft agency as they won’t like the kind of stress the EFCC puts suspects through during trial.
