Paul Walter Hauser has been cast in an unknown role for Fantastic Four, plus we have some Mole Man rumors to ponder over also. First let’s get to the official news as Deadline reveals Paul Walter Hauser has been cast in an unknown role in Fantastic Four. The movie is currently rumored to film late Summer/Fall.
Here is what the trade reported.
‘Paul Walter Hauser is having quite a week. After being tapped for the role of Ed, Frank Drebin’s partner, in the untitled Naked Gun reboot from Paramount Pictures, as we were also first to report, we now hear the actor has come aboard Marvel Studios‘ The Fantastic Four.’
‘For now, Hauser’s role in the superhero flick is under wraps, as is its plot. As previously reported, pic’s core cast includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (aka Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (aka the Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (aka the Human Torch) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (aka the Thing). Most recently, Julia Garner came aboard to play Shalla-Bal, a version of Silver Surfer.’

So, I don’t think anyone in the fan base is confident which role this could be? Some had suggested voice or mo-cap work as HERBIE. However, really it could be anything as all the main roles have been filled. Well, except Doom (rumored to not be big focus) and it’s not Doom.
However, a new character name has entered the mix courtesy of Jeff Sneider on his TheInsneider newsletter sub service. Sneider makes no claim that Hauser is connected with this rumor. However, it does kinda make some sense. Sneider says that the Fantastic Four film will begin kinda like Incredibles ended. A fight against the Mole Man. If we put two and two together, we get…pure speculation, but worth mentioning nonetheless.
