BATON ROUGE, La. | Jackson State won two more gold medals and several student-athletes scored points on the second day of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday.

The Tigers currently sit second in the men's standings with seven of the 21 events scored with 54 total points, trailing only Texas Southern with 61. Meanwhile, on the women's side, Jackson State sits third with 38 total points with nine of 21 events scored. They sit behind Prairie View A&M (62) and Southern (49.33).

Davieon Center led a pair of Tigers to reach the top of the medal stand on Friday with a personal best of 16.79 meters (55-01.00) in the shot put, while
Lilliann Dudley finished atop the podium in the women's shot put with a throw of 14.37 meters (47-01.75).

Vincent Wilson also reached the medal stand for Jackson State, finishing third in the Decathlon with 5,988 points. He finished behind Che Rochford (UAPB) and Brandon McLean (Alabama A&M) in the competition.

The Tigers scored big in the men's 3000-meter Steeplechase with three runners in the top eight led by
Jeremiah Hudson in third with a time of 10:00.93 – a new personal best. He was joined by
Ber'Narjay Jackson in fifth at 10:58.67 and
Derrick Eskridge in eighth with a time of 12:20.41. On the women's side,
Jacquel Williams scored points with a seventh-place finish in the high jump with a clearance of 1.56 meters (5-01.25).

Jace Coleman qualified for the 100-meter finals with the sixth-fastest time in the prelims at 10.44 seconds, while
Ronald Huddleston narrowly missed with the ninth-fastest time at 10.60 seconds. Meanwhile,
Ivan Donaldson Jr. qualified for his second final of the weekend with the fifth-fastest time in the 110-meter hurdles at 14.59 seconds, while teammate
Tyler Tremble narrowly missed the final with the ninth-fastest time at 14.79.

Tyjah Edwards set a new personal best in the men's 400-meter prelims to advance to the finals with the sixth-fastest time overall at 47.70 seconds.
Caleb Crutcher also joined the list of student-athletes qualifying for the finals with a personal best of 1:53.13 in the 800-meter prelims while
Kaylin Jackson qualified for the women's 800-meter finals with a time of 2:17.46.
