AUBURN, Ala. -- With a trio of 74s, the 36th-ranked University of Michigan women's golf team used a second-round tally of 304 total Tuesday (May 7) to move to ninth with its 615 36-hole total at the NCAA Auburn Regional at the Auburn University Club.
After opening its 17th NCAA postseason appearance with a 311 in Monday's (May 6) first round, fifth-year senior Hailey Borja, senior Monet Chun and sophomore Lauren Sung all carded second-round totals of 74 (+2) to help U-M improve seven spots posting a 304 close the day ninth with a 615 total.
With her 151 (77-74) two-day total, Borja leads the Wolverines as she is tied for 25th, while Chun (79-74) and Sung (79-74) are tied for 34th (153). Freshman Sidney Yermish finished the day tied for 48th (158), while sophomore Sydney Sung substituted for fellow sophomore Mara Janess.
The Maize and Blue will be paired with South Carolina (293-305/598) and Miami (305-306/611) for Wednesday's (May 8) final round. The grouping will begin off the first tee at 8:55 a.m. CDT.
