LAFAYETTE, La. | Jackson State's upset bid of No. 22 Louisiana came up short on the road when the Ragin' Cajuns used a three-run eighth inning to pull away for a 5-0 victory on Tuesday night.

Jackson State (30-17) fell behind 2-0 after five innings before loading the bases in the eighth inning.
Shemar Harris led off the eighth with a single down the first base line before he was called out on a fielder's choice off the bat of
Arjun Huerta. The Tigers loaded the bases with walks to
Sebastian Cabeza and
Rodney Hibler Jr. with two outs in the inning before a fly ball to center ended the threat.

The Tigers were held to just three hits with Harris reaching base twice with a single and a walk.
Stevins Spurgeon Jr. (4-1) suffered the loss in the start working 7.0 innings and allowing a pair of runs on six hits with four strikeouts.

- (B5) Trey LaFleur doubled to left center to drive in Josh Alexander and Connor Cuff, Louisiana 2-0.
- (B8) Bryan Broussard, Jr. reached on a dropped fly allowing Colton Ryals to score before Torres singled through the left side to drive in a pair, Louisiana 5-0.
