Just over a month ago, Pitt football and running back coach Lindsey Lamar extended an offer to Sarasota, Fla. native Jamarice Wilder.

On Wednesday, Pitt got one step closer to potentially landing the three-star running back with Wilder putting the Panthers in his top 10 schools.

The Panthers are steeped in a list with West Virginia, Cincinnati, Indiana, Iowa State, Michigan State, USF, Old Dominion, Buffalo and Appalachian State.

According to 247 Sports, Wilder owns a 86 rating and is the 80th running back in the class of 2025.

The 5-foot-9, 180-pound back posted 133 carries for 1,160 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns this past fall for Venice High School. He will spend his final high school season with Booker High School.

On tape, Wilder possesses the ability to break tackles and get into the second level of the defense. From there, he has top speed that can burn past the defense. He also shows great vision and quick instincts to hit the proper holes in the line.

Wilder previously committed to Deion Sanders and Colorado in August, but reopened his recruitment a few months later in November.

Pitt’s 2025 recruiting class is shaped up of three commitments thus far with three-star wide receiver Bryce Yates (Chesterfield, Va.), three-star defensive lineman Trevor Sommers (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and three-star quarterback Mason Heintschel (Oregon, Ohio).

Other prospects that have put Pitt amongst their top schools include four-star defensive back Elijah Dotson, defensive back Bernard Lackey, three-star Michigan linebacker DiMari Malone, three-star Pennsylvania wide receiver Michael Scott and others.
