Catherine attended the launch of the Antisemitism Policy Trust’s new guide to conspiracy theories in Parliament to mark the importance of addressing harmful conspiracies that spread fear and hate.
The Antisemitism Policy Trust’s founding mission is to educate parliamentarians and policy makers to address antisemitism and the new guide to conspiracy theories has been produced to inform MPs about the risks of conspiracy theories, including anti-Jewish conspiracies, so they are better equipped to tackle them as they emerge.
As Co-Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group Against Antisemitism, Catherine is committed to challenging antisemitic conspiracies wherever they occur and has worked with a number of organisations on addressing antisemitism.
Following the event, Catherine said:
“As Co-Chair of the APPG Against Antisemitism, I was pleased to attend the launch of the Antisemitism Policy Trust’s new guide to conspiracy theories for politicians.
“Conspiracy theories are a key method for spreading disinformation with intent to cause harm in our society. It is therefore vital that people, but especially those in public life, properly understand the origin, nature and spread of these conspiracy theories so they feel equipped to challenge and dismantle them.
“I will continue to challenge all conspiracy theories wherever they arise and we must all be on alert to threats as they evolve. “
