Arsenal now reportedly interested in £10m player who’s already said he can’t stand Tottenham

Arsenal could look to re-sign a former fan favourite this summer.

Indeed, according to The Evening Standard, Wojciech Szczesny is being considered as Arsenal as a new goalkeeping option.

The Gunners may need a new goalkeeper this summer as Aaron Ramsdale gears up to potentially leave the club.

Szczesny is considered an option, and he would probably be a welcomed signing at the Emirates.

Indeed, Szczesny was a fan favourite during his time at the Emirates, and he understood Arsenal very well.

The Polish goalkeeper was fully embedded into life at Arsenal, so much so that he grew to seriously dislike Tottenham.

Wojciech Szczesny doesn’t like Tottenham

The £10m Arsenal target has already previously admitted how much he doesn’t like Tottenham, discussing Spurs back in 2012 during his time at Arsenal.

“Currently we are in fourth place and that is the minimum for us because this club has to be in the Champions League every year,” Szczesny said as Arsenal tried to chase down Tottenham in 2012.

“After the Tottenham game we reduced the gap to them a little bit. It is obvious that it is my ambition to finish the season in front of them because I hate them.”

Szczesny gets Arsenal

Szczesny would be a fantastic signing for a number of reasons.

For a start, he’s a very capable goalkeeper who would be able to play a part in this squad, while he’d also be a great addition to the dressing room.

Szczesny may not be from north London, but he understands Arsenal as a club in a way that not many others do.

Even after leaving Arsenal all those years ago, Szczesny has always made it clear how much he loves the Gunners.

This could be a wise signing from a footballing perspective and also from a personality perspective.
