Jeremie Frimpong can’t believe what he’s now hearing about Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli

Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong has got into a bit of a heated debate about Gabriel Martinelli.

Speaking to Goal’s Front Three, the Dutchman has been discussing the Arsenal star.

Frimpong was asked who he believes is the best player between Jeremy Doku, Luis Diaz and Martinelli.

Frimpong opted for Doku over Martinelli, but the host of the interview had to disagree.

Frimpong took issue with that suggestion, claiming that it was ridiculous to say that Martinelli is better than Doku, stating that the Belgian is the much better player one vs one.

Jeremie Frimpong gets into Gabriel Martinelli argument

“Jeremy Doku, Luis Diaz or Martinelli? Frimpong was asked.

“I’d go with Jeremy Doku me you know,” Frimpong said.

“Martinelli is better than Doku,” The host replied.

“Who’s better one against one? Answer the question?” Frimpong said.

“I think Martinelli is less predictable than Doku, so Martinelli,” The host replied.

“That is ridiculous, who is stopping him (Doku). I’m talking one against one. We will talk off-camera. To be fair, When it comes to goals, it’s Martinelli,” Frimpong concluded.

Gabriel Martinelli vs Jeremy Doku

This is a very interesting debate about two very talented players.

As a right-back, it probably is more frightening to come up against Doku than Martinelli.

The Belgian is much trickier than the Brazilian who is much more direct, and once you get the hang of that, you can handle him.

Meanwhile, Doku can turn you inside out in a number of ways, and while he may not be as efficient as Martinelli, he’s certainly more frightening.

Martinelli might be the better player overall in terms of what he can bring with his end product, but, as a right-back, we can understand why Frimpong is more inclined to praise Doku than the Arsenal star.
