By Both Houston and Austin are looking nationally for the right candidate to lead their respective police departments. Austin’s new city manager says he hopes a candidate search will bring a new police chief on board by the summer.
Interim Austin Police Chief Robin Henderson has held the position since Joseph Chacon retired last September. In Houston, an interim police chief is helming the department after Police Chief Troy Finner abruptly announced his retirement this week.
