Pundit claims £60m player could impact Manchester United as much as Cole Palmer has done at Chelsea

Manchester United will be needing new players this summer and one BBC pundit believes one potential £60m signing could have an impact similar to Cole Palmer’s at Chelsea.

Erik ten Hag’s side have had a somewhat miserable season when it comes to the league but they could yet finish the season with a trophy.

An FA Cup final clash with local rivals Manchester City gives them a chance to finish on a high and in turn, send a message to potential signings.

For Ten Hag, there remains uncertainty around his job and future. But nevertheless, players are still being linked with moves to Old Trafford as Sir Jim Ratcliffe looks to make his mark in the window.

One such player to be linked is Crystal Palace star, Michael Olise. The former Reading man could cost up to £60m if he is to sign for United.

But speaking on a potential Olise to United deal, BBC pundit and former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson has insisted it would be money well spent.

Michael Olise tipped to make Cole Palmer-like impact at Manchester United

Speaking on BBC Radio Five Live last night, Robinson insisted that Olise could have an effect similar to that of Cole Palmer’s at United.

“Without a doubt, I can see him fit in. He would go straight into the Manchester United team, the way that Cole Palmer has left and gone to Chelsea, somebody like that would go straight into a Manchester United side. For him, if he is to go, he has to go somewhere and he has to play,” Robinson said.

A number of clubs want to sign Michael Olise

While Olise to Old Trafford might make sense as Robinson points out here, United won’t simply have a clean run at signing him.

Potential Premier League champions Arsenal are also keen on Olise, while Liverpool have also been credited with holding an interest in the winger.

Previous reports have suggested United are ‘confident’ they can sign Olise, and as it stands, he’d no doubt be keen on a move up the ladder.

But Olise is a player who has performed to such a level with Palace – nine goals this season demonstrate his quality – that there could be quite the scramble to sign him.
