A car with two young children inside, but no driver, slipped out of gear and rolled down a steep hill in Cohasset and across a sports field where several young children were playing, according to police.
The 2017 Chevrolet Suburban went through a chain link fence before stopping in a yard Saturday morning, Cohasset police said.
Around 10:40 a.m., police received reports of an “out of control” vehicle driving through a sports field at the town’s middle school where kindergarten-aged children were playing lacrosse, police said in a Facebook post.
Coaches and parents got the kids out of the vehicle’s path as it moved through the field before stopping near 150 Pond St.
