Perez drops Mbappe hint as Real Madrid and Ancelotti celebrate LaLiga title in style

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez dropped his latest hint that Kylian Mbappe is bound for the Spanish capital as Los Blancos celebrated their LaLiga title triumph on Sunday.

Madrid clinched a record-extending 36th Spanish title last week, while they will also contest the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium on June 1.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side look likely to further strengthen in the upcoming transfer window, with Mbappe set to move to the Santiago Bernabeu two years after rejecting Madrid to pen a new contract with Paris Saint-German.

On Friday, Mbappe officially announced he will leave PSG as a free agent at the end of the season, and reports have suggested he has already agreed to join the Spanish champions.

During Sunday’s open-top bus parade through Madrid, Perez gave a speech at the City Hall.

Perez asked the crowd; “Who do we bring in?”, then smiled when shouts of “Mbappe” rang out among those present.

Mbappe has scored 43 goals in all competitions in 2023-24 to make it the most prolific campaign of his career, though he was unable to inspire PSG past Dortmund in the Champions League semi-finals.

Sunday’s parade also saw Ancelotti recreate his iconic pose from 2022, when he had his photo taken wearing sunglasses and puffing on a cigar during another open-top bus parade as Madrid celebrated a LaLiga and Champions League double.

In the latest version, Ancelotti could be seen donning a Madrid shirt and scarf, posing alongside Eduardo Camavinga, Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, David Alaba and Eder Militao.

Madrid have not let up since clinching the title and could still reach 99 points, having thrashed Granada 4-0 despite rotating heavily on Saturday.
