Following the recent pandemonium at the Rivers State House Of Assembly Quaters due to the perceived intention of the Rivers State Governor Siminalaiyi Fubara to possess it, after demolishing the state Assembly Complex some months ago,
Rivers people across party lines have paid unscheduled visit to the premises to see things for themselves.
The speaker of the Rivers state House of Assembly Martins Amaewhule who received the Leaders, Elders, Stakeholders and their supporters, took them round the Quaters to ascertain the safety of the buildings.
The visit of the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Governor Siminalaiyi Fubara to the State Assembly Quaters with speculations that he wants to conduct renovation, with the police take over of the premises to prevent break down of law and order has sparked agitations by the embattled lawmakers.

Some equally dissatisfied Rivers people across Party lines stormed the Assembly Quaters and were received by the Speaker Rt Honourable Martins Amaehule who conducted them round the premises to assess the standard of the buildings.
Immediately after the tour, Martin Amawhule briefed political stakeholders and their supporters alleging that the Governor forced his way into the quaters without their permission.
Speaking during the assessment tour, Ken Chinda, National Assembly Caucus minority leader, Senator Olaka Wogu, former PDP Chairman Desmond Akawor, former speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly Ikunyi Awaji -Igbani, and Senator Igo Aguma said the Assembly Quaters were one of the best in Africa, and condemned the governor’s perceived motives to tamper with its structures.
The twenty six embattled lawmakers, the stakeholders and their supporters drew the attention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,the National and International communities to intervene in order to avoid political crisis in the state.
