Man killed in car crash in Crestwood
A serious car crash Sunday left a 48-year-old man dead in Crestwood. The crash shut down Cal Sag Road, but it was later reopened, police said.

CRESTWOOD, Ill. (WLS) -- A man was killed in a car crash in southwest suburban Crestwood Sunday.

Cal Sag Road was closed at the entrance to Playfield Drive but it has since reopened, police said.

The person killed in the crash was a 48-year-old man, the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said. The man's identity was not immediately known.

Not many details have been released about the serious crash.

Video of the scene shows at least two vehicles were involved, and both appeared to have sustained serious damage.

Drivers had previously been asked to take 127th or 135th street to avoid the area during the investigation. All lanes are now open to traffic again.
