2024 WAFU B U17 Nations Cup: Togo's Aklesso Gnama to officiate Ghana's clash with Cote d'Ivoire on Wednesday

Togolese referee Aklesso Gnama has been appointed to officiate the opening match of the 2024 WAFU B U17 Cup of Nations between Ghana's Black Starlets and Ivory Coast.

The eagerly anticipated encounter is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Accra.

The tournament features two groups, with Group A comprising Ghana, Cote D'Ivoire, and Benin, while Group B includes Nigeria, Togo, Burkina Faso, and Niger.

The opening game, slated to kick off at 4:00 p.m., promises to be a thrilling spectacle as Ghana and Ivory Coast go head-to-head in a battle for supremacy.

Adding to the excitement, Gnama will be supported by his compatriots Wassiou Tchamolla Ourotou and Soma Issouf from Burkina Faso, who will assist him on the lines.

Awa Alphonsine Ornella Ilboudo has been assigned as the fourth official for the opening game, with Latré-Kayi Edzona Lawson-Hogban taking on the role of match commissioner, ensuring that the game proceeds smoothly and fairly.
