Mark Lawrenson shares what David Moyes has now said to him about leaving West Ham

David Moyes is leaving West Ham at the end of the season.

A deal has reportedly been done for Julen Lopetegui to come to the London Stadium at the end of the season to replace Moyes.

The Scot is set to leave the Hammers as a modern legend, and speaking to Off The Ball, Mark Lawrenson has been discussing Moyes’ view about leaving West Ham.

Lawrenson and Moyes are, famously, very close friends, and the pundit says that he has spoken to Moyes about leaving West Ham, and he says that the manager isn’t that bothered about his impending departure.

David Moyes not bothered about leaving West Ham

Lawrenson shared what Moyes told him about leaving.

“I spoke to him before the last home game and I’ve known him for a long time as you know, since he was managing Preston, and he was so chilled. He said ‘you know what, I’m just not bothered about whatever happens.’ He’ll get another job, he can’t stay at home because football is his absolute life,” Lawrenson said.

David Moyes has been here before

David Moyes doesn’t sound so heartbroken about leaving West Ham, and that’s because he’s been here before.

This isn’t the biggest professional setback of Moyes’ career. After all, this is the man who was sacked after less than 12 months by Manchester United after replacing Alex Ferguson.

Make no mistake about it, Moyes has dealt with bigger setbacks than this before and he has bounced back every single time.

As Lawrenson says, Moyes won’t be out of work for too long, and it wouldn’t be a shock at all if he was seen in a Premier League dugout next season.

West Ham and Moyes are parting ways, but this doesn’t have to be a sour split.
