Neugebauer remains on The Bowerman Watch List

Neugebauer is one of three on every update of the Bowerman watch list this season

AUSTIN, Texas – Leo Neugebauer remains on the Bowerman Watch List after the sixth update of the 2023-24 season.

Neugebauer was named to the Bowerman Preseason watch list and has been on all six updates that have followed. He's joined by Romaine Beckford and Wayne Pinnock of Arkansas as the only three who have been on every update.

Neugbauer's season continues to shine above the rest this outdoor season. After capping the indoor campaign winning the NCAA heptathlon with a score of 6,347 points and the German national record, Neugebuaer has torn up his own record book.

He's set a personal best in at least one event in each meet this season until the Big 12 Outdoor Championship meet. Neugebauer made it three-straight Texas Relays decathlon titles and leads the NCAA with his score of 8,708 points, which ranks second in the world this year.

He recently added a Big 12 Outdoor title in the long jump to his name with a first round jump of 7.77m (25-6) and a third-place finish in discus with a heave of 58.61m (192-3).

The Bowerman is the highest award given to the best track or field athlete of the season and will be awarded in December at the USTFCCCA Convention.
