Ian Wright has refused to accept Gary Neville’s prediction for Manchester United in the FA Cup final next weekend.

Despite the FA Cup final being a week away, it’s already at the forefront of many minds given how hopeless achieving anything in the Premier League is right now.

This weekend sees Manchester United need to win by a substantial amount, or hope Chelsea and Newcastle lose in order to finish sixth or seventh.

Failing this, next weekend sees United have the chance to qualify for the Europa League by beating Man City in the final.

Ahead of the final next weekend, Gary Neville has shared his prediction, one Ian Wright simply didn’t agree with.

Ian Wright disagrees with Gary Neville over FA Cup final prediction

Speaking during The Stick to Football final day predictions video, Neville emphatically declared his prediction for the final next Saturday.

“United are going to win the Cup final”, Neville said confidently, but Wright didn’t agree with him on this, and didn’t hesitate to tell him.

“Gary, they are not”, fired Wright in response to Neville’s prediction.

“Man United are not beating Man City. I would like to give you something, but there’s nothing to even look back on to make you feel like they are going to do that. I would love them to do it if I am being totally honest.”

Manchester United have shown they can beat Man City

Despite a terrible season, the last time United faced City, it was at the Etihad and Erik ten Hag’s side wasn’t far off causing an upset.

This was also without key players who might’ve made the difference in defence with City eventually breaking Ten Hag’s deep block down.

For the final United will hopefully have most of the squad to choose from with the likes of Lisandro Martinez potentially key.

If United beat City, it won’t be through playing the better football, but after frustrating Arsenal only for an individual error to prove costly, there’s no reason it can’t be done.
