BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL TO VOTE ON TRUCK PURCHASE, DISCUSS CAPITAL PLANS MONDAY

Right off the heels of a meeting Thursday, the Brenham City Council is set to gather once again for a special meeting on Monday.

In regular session, the council will act on the purchase of a Freightliner Slinger truck for the city’s Wastewater Treatment Department, as well as an equipment financing proposal from Bank of Brenham.

The cost of the truck from Lone Star Freightliner Group, through The Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS), is $262,767.  The financing proposal is a five-year note with a proposed interest rate of 6.875 percent.

The city expects the truck will enter the building process in the fourth quarter of this year, but an order needs to be placed by May 31st in order to ensure that timeframe.

After those items, councilmembers will hold a work session to review five-year capital plans for various city departments.  No action will be taken.

The council will meet Monday at 8:30 a.m. at Brenham City Hall.
