WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO DISCUSS CONTRACTS FOR JAIL MEDICAL SERVICES, COURTHOUSE LANDSCAPE PROJECT

Washington County Commissioners will take up talks on contracts for jail medical services and courthouse landscaping at their meeting on Tuesday.

First, commissioners will potentially enter into contract negotiations for medical services at the jail after going out for requests for qualifications (RFQs) at their meeting on April 16th

The county entered into a three-year contract with CorrHealth for services at the jail in 2021, and the contract comes with a possible two-year extension, but commissioners spoke on the 16th about their desire to seek out qualifications before proceeding further.

After that, the court will act on a contract with Terralab Landscape Architects for landscape architect design services at the courthouse.  The project will be funded through American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars.

Also on Tuesday, commissioners will vote on appointments and reappointments to the Hotel Occupancy Board Funding Committee.  Up for consideration as a new member is Allison Crowson, while Sandra Kindt, Cyndee Smith, Jamie Rankin and Mark Pennybacker are up for reappointment.

In other business, the court will:

  • vote on the purchase of a Chevrolet Tahoe for the Precinct 3 Constable’s Office from Caldwell Country.
  • Consider an oil and gas development permit for Magnolia Oil and Gas Operating, LLC on Sandstone Road in Precinct 4.
  • Potentially accept Century Terrace (0.31 miles), Orion Drive (0.24 miles) and Astin Court (0.10 miles), all located in the Century Farms at Chappell Hill subdivision in Precinct 2, into the county road system.
  • Hear a presentation of the Information Technology Department quarterly report.
  • Discuss a formal notice for a water installation by Corix Utilities along and across the Captain Scott Road right-of-way in Precinct 3.

Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
