Sabrina Carpenter is not taking ‘boo’ from her fans.
The US musician, 25, who performed in Manchester last night, was shocked to learn that her fans have a very short tolerance and a not-so-sweet response to Liverpool crowd members.
While talking to the audience, Sabrina, who is currently in the middle of her UK tour, asked a fan called Cal where he is from and when he said Liverpool, the crowd broke out into deafening ‘boos’ – safe to safe the Juno singer wasn’t too happy.
‘What?’ she asked the crowd shocked.
‘Guys, I’m not from here, so I don’t know what the f**k that’s about, but we’re not booing Cal,’ she sternly told them with a shocked expression covering her face.
‘He didn’t choose to be born there,’ she then chuckled as she and her two backup dancers appeared to make a joke of the situation with their sassy facials. ‘And he came to Manchester.’
The songstress quickly moved on with the show, and it seems there were no other run-ins between the crowd, which included residents of both the rival cities.
The same can’t be said online, though, as the video sparked mixed reactions and quickly went viral, earning over 18,000 likes and hundreds of reposts in less than 24 hours.
In the comment section, fans voiced their opinions, or rather their criticism regarding the situation, with many praising Sabrina for the way she handled the crowd, while others were sick of the ‘football crowd’ behaviour.

@ISARXCKSTXR added: ‘That was funny as hell. I was crying, and her reaction was even funnier. How can you not love her?’

‘Booing because someone is from Liverpool. Come on guys, do better,’ @itspastelrach wrote.
@fyodrenthusiast cheekily replied: ‘Well, it was Liverpool we had to.’
If, like Sabrina, you’re not sure why the crowd was booing at Cal, it’s because Manchester and Liverpool have a centuries-long dislike for each other.
It dates all the way back to the 1800s; however, most of the tension between the two UK cities today is due to their rival football teams, Manchester United and Liverpool FC.
The two Northern clubs are the most successful in English football history, constantly competing for trophies and naturally, die-hard fans are quick to get behind their team – even at a place where it seems completely irrelevant like a pop music concert.
Thursday night’s concert isn’t the first time this week that the Espresso singer’s shows have caused a stir online.
Following her performance at London’s The O2 on Sunday night, former EastEnders star Lorraine Stanley, best known for playing Karen Taylor in the BBC One soap, shared her distaste for the musician.
Taking to Instagram, the star, 48, was left unimpressed when she realised Sabrina sings to the audience in lingerie outfits and told her followers that she felt like a ‘bad mum’ for letting her eight-year-old child view the performances.

She wrote in a caption: ‘Just got sent this video….Nancy is watching that!!! I didn’t realise she was that S***ty. No wonder Mark was keen to take her. Oh God! #toomuch #badmum.’
The Espresso hitmaker, 25, has previously faced criticism for her risqué dance routines and suggestive lyrics.
But Sabrina refused to be ‘shamed’ for her actions, standing alongside other female artists still facing backlash for being comfortable with who they are.
‘My message has always been clear — if you can’t handle a girl who is confident in her own sexuality, then don’t come to my shows,’ she stated.
