Wolverhampton Wanderers are not interested in defender Milan Skriniar, despite reports to the contrary.
That’s according to journalist Reşat Can Özbudak, who reports that Wolves manager Vitor Pereira has ruled out any ‘special requests’ for the player.
A report yesterday stated that Wolves could make a move for the centre-back, who is currently on loan at Fenerbahce from Paris Saint-Germain.
It remains to be seen if that move becomes a permanent one in the summer but, in case that it doesn’t, the 30-year-old is likely to be assessing his options on the market.
A report stated that Wolves could be one of them as they plan to invest in the summer and avoid another relegation battle next season.
Özbudak insists that there is nothing to those rumours, though, as he’s spoken to Wolves boss Pereira about them.
“I spoke to Vitor Pereira, and she did not have any special requests for Skriniar,” he put on his X account today regarding the reports around Skriniar.
Now, this could just be a case of the Wolves boss playing coy, but a move for Skriniar would make little sense given the current make up of their squad.
They have seven centre-backs at present, including long-term injured Yerson Mosquera, so it’s hardly the position of weakness it once was.
They were also busy strengthening the position in January with the signings of Emmanuel Agbadou and Nasser Djiga too, which would suggest a defender won’t be on their list for the summer either.
