Fulham and West Ham United are among the ‘interested parties’ in Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha, who may end up valuing a return to the Premier League this summer.

That’s according to journalist Christian Falk speaking to BILD, who has revealed that both sides have a good chance of getting the midfielder back to the Premier League.

A report yesterday, again from Falk, stated that Fulham and West Ham were keeping an eye on Palhinha’s situation at Bayern Munich ahead of the summer.

The Portuguese midfielder has endured a frustrating year at the German champions, finding himself mostly sat on the bench under Vincent Kompany.

The 29-year-old has failed to establish himself as part of the Belgian’s plans following a €51m move from Fulham in the summer and all signs from Bavaria are that they would be open to selling him and recouping their losses in the summer.

That’s seen the Premier League, where he previously shined for Marco Silva, stand up and take notice and it was explained that Fulham and West Ham were eyeing up moves.

Falk continues with that today and admits Palhinha may be interested if Bayern Munich don’t indicate that his situation is going to improve.

“That’s true and that’s Bayern’s very, very big hope,” he said when asked if Premier League clubs are interest.

“He cost around €50m to sign from Fulham. And now they hope to be able to sell him back after a year without a significant loss in value.

“They’ll have to make some concessions, of course, but a season on the bench can perhaps be dismissed as a sign of difficulties adapting.

“Fulham are among the interested parties. They know what they have, but according to our information, West Ham has also come knocking.

“He (Palhinha) says he’s giving his all for the club, but he doesn’t know what will happen. And, uh, if Bayern say he won’t have better playing time next season, I think he would consider, if an offer comes in, whether it makes sense for him to perhaps return to the British Isles.”
