Manchester United are looking to rival Manchester City for AS Monaco attacker Maghnes Akliouche, outlets in France have claimed.

L’Equipe have published a story related to the right-winger and his current side’s position pertaining to his future.

They state that the asking price is around €70m to €80m – though an anonymous source has informed the publication that it could be wildly less than that, perhaps closer to €50m.

Last week, the same outlet said that Paris Saint Germain were keen and were prepared to rival Pep Guardiola’s men for his signature.

For PSG at least, Akliouche is seen as an alternative after they failed to convince Mohamed Salah to leave Liverpool on a free transfer, with the winger recently signing fresh terms at Anfield.

To compound this, the Ligue 1 champions are sweating on the future of Bradley Barcola, who is holding off on signing a new contract at the club and could therefore move on in the summer window.

Monaco are hopeful to sell Akliouche – who they greatly admire but know they can’t keep hold of.

Man City hold a big pull for the youngster, but the interest from PSG is reciprocated, with the report stating that he is “not immune” to the Les Parisiens.
