Earlier this week, Newcastle United were linked with a move for AC Milan’s Alexis Saelemaekers, who is on loan at AS Roma.

More details about the Magpies’ interest in the Belgian have now emerged and MilanLive have shared a report on the winger.

They state that Saelemaekers’ valuation has risen since last season because of his impressive performances for Roma, who have seen him score six times in Serie A.

The Giallorossi are trying to sign him permanently too and have attempted to insert Tammy Abraham into the deal. That idea doesn’t convince Milan, who will ‘gladly’ sell the player to a suitor like Newcastle United.

Eddie Howe’s side are thinking about the possibility of signing the Belgium international, whose will is going to be key in the summer.

While he is happy to stay at Milan, Newcastle United will not find it too difficult to pay the €20m price tag and this can bring about a transfer.

The report states that the Tyneside club are very attentive to the Italian market, having signed Sandro Tonali, and they also tried to sign Malick Thiaw last summer.

This summer, Saelemaekers could be the chosen one.
