DNC Statement on Anniversary of Pulse Nightclub Shooting

DNC Chair Ken Martin issued the following statement on the anniversary of the Pulse Nightclub shooting:

“Nine years ago today, Americans bore witness to another horrific shooting that took the innocent lives of 49 people at Orlando, Florida’s Pulse Nightclub. For the LGBTQ+ community, the fear of harassment, discrimination, and violence is all too commonplace in the United States. Gun violence and homophobia have no place in our country and should never be tolerated.

“We must not back down. As Democrats, we will continue to fight to ensure every American is treated with the same respect and dignity.”
