MANILA, Philippines —Manifestation worked wonders for Jules Tolentino in the PVL Rookie Draft, landing on the team she wanted to play for in Petro Gazz.

Petro Gazz’s 11th overall pick — its only selection in the stacked PVL draft class — was the 22-year-old setter from coach Ramil De Jesus’ successful system.

Tolentino is joining veteran and fellow ex La Salle Lady Spiker Chie Saet at the Angels.

FEATURED STORIES

After settling for silver with La Salle in the UAAP Season 87 finals, Tolentino is looking forward to learning from Saet, the former Lady Spikers’ playmaker in early 2000s.

“Honestly, I really manifested being part of this team, especially because my ates are here, including Ate Chie. I truly hoped I’d get the chance to be with her because I really wanted to learn from her,” Tolentino said.

Tolentino will have three setters to guide her including Saet, named Miss Quality Minutes in the recent PVL Press Corps Awards, Djanel Cheng, and Petro Gazz’s last year’s pick Donna Paralejas.

She is set to bolster the Angels, who recently won their first All-Filipino title after ending Creamline’s dynasty.

“Super excited because Petro Gazz is a veteran and champion team. Their growth has been incredible, so to be part of that team feels really fulfilling,” Tolentino said.
