PARENTS are being warned to keep tabs on the whereabouts of their children following a recent rise in youth anti-social behaviour.

Officers from Cheshire Police’s Poplars and Hulme Police and Poulton North Police teams issued the warning after receiving increasing numbers of reports.

They say that yobbish behaviour is ‘causing undue distress’ to residents in the Fearnhead, Longbarn, Cinnamon Brow and Orford areas.

Among those being impacted is the elderly, and officers says the anti-social behaviour ‘needs to stop now’.

The two police teams said: “Over the last few weeks, we have received an increasing number of reports involving youth anti-social behaviour.

“This is causing undue distress to several people including the elderly and needs to stop now.

“May we remind you that the criminal age of responsibility is 10 years old.

“Can we also politely ask parents and guardians to know and check where your children are at all times. This behaviour will not be tolerated.

“Please report any issues via 101, or in an emergency via 999.”
