Students gather in Oxford as FBI joins search for missing Ole Miss student
AREA. HE DIED AT THE SCENE. A VIGIL WAS HELD ON THE CAMPUS OF "OLE MISS " AS THE SEARCH CONTINUES FOR A MISSING STUDENT. THE PARENTS OF "JAY LEE" GATHERED ALONG WITH STUDENTS AND SUPPORTERS. THEY HAD SIGNS WITH LOVING MESSAGES CALLING FOR LEE'S SAFE RETURN. THE OLE MISS STUDENT HAS BEEN MISSING FOR NEARLY TWO WEEKS. THE F-B-I HAS JOINED IN THE SEARCH. LEE WAS LAST SEEN JULY 8TH LEAVING 'CAMPUS WALK APARTMENTS.' LEE'S CAR WAS FOUND A COUPLE DAYS LATER AT THE "MOLLY BARR TRAILS APARTMENT" COMPLEX. THE FAMILY IS PLEDGING $5- THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO LEE BEING FOUND. POLICE SAY THEY WILL CONTINUE TO FOLLOW UP ON ALL TIPS, AND THEY ARE REVIEWING VIDEO FOOTAGE. <WE WERE OVERWHELMED IN SEEING HOW HE WAS ORDERING BABY ITEMS OUT OF HIS OWN POCKET TO GIVE OUT TO CHILDREN IN NEED. THAT'S THE KIND OF GUY HE IS. IT'S OUR PRAYER THAT JAY LEE COMES HOME SAFE AND SOUND. A vigil was held on the Ole Miss campus as the search for a missing student continues. The "Hope Rally for Jay Lee" was held Wednesday evening at the Flagpole in The Circle. The university's Department of Social Work helped organize the event."He is a very sweet individual," said classmate Kara Gallagher. "He was always outgoing, and the reason we're doing this is because, if it was any of us, he would be here right now." Jimmie "Jay" Lee, 20, was last seen on July 8 leaving an apartment complex. Lee's car was found at an Oxford towing company, but there has been no sign of Lee.The FBI and the Mississippi Attorney General's Office have joined Oxford and Ole Miss police in the investigation. Lee's family is pledging a $5,000 reward, on top of the $1,000 already offered by Crime Stoppers for information leading to Lee's whereabouts.
