One man is in jail following the shooting death of a North Carolina soldier over the weekend. According to a news release, Malik Anthony Williams, 25, was arrested Tuesday and charged with first-degree murder in the death of 29-year-old Keith Martinez Wright Jr. Williams is being held in Moore County Detention Center with no bond. Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields said that on July 23, deputies were called to the 200 block of Primrose Path regarding a shooting at a large gathering. After deputies arrived, they found Wright dead at the scene from apparent gunshot wounds. According to news outlet WRAL, Wright was a soldier stationed at Fort Bragg.Four other people were also treated for gunshot wounds from the shooting, the sheriff said.Sheriff’s investigators are still working to identify additional witnesses who were present at the gathering at the time of the shooting.
