This year, the spring bank holiday falls on Monday, May 27.

Is Co-op open over the bank holiday?

Co-op's website says its stores may open later and close earlier than normal over the bank holiday.

Branches should be operating normal trading hours on Saturday and Sunday though.

Co-op stores typically welcome shoppers from either 6am or 7am until 11pm on most days.

Some close at 10pm though while others shut at midnight, so it's important to check ahead.

Aldi has said it is operating standard opening hours across its branches on Saturday and Sunday.

Then stores in England and Wales are open until 8pm on May 27 while Scottish branches close at 10pm as normal.

Meanwhile, Morrisons has revealed special opening hours for May 27.

Stores are generally open between 7am and 8am and close at 8pm. Some stores close at 10pm.

But customers should check their nearest branch's opening hours using the store finder tool on the retailer's website.
