REPORTER: A COUPLE WALKING ON NORTHWEST 23RD STREET SAYS THEY HEARD SOMEONE YELLING FOR HELP, SO THEY FLAGGED DOWN A CAR COMING TOWARD THEM, A STATE GAME WARDEN. >> I WAS FLAGGED BY FLAGGED DOWN BY TWO INDIVIDUALS. AS I PUT MY SIRENS AND MY LIGHTS ON, I JUMPED OUT OF THE TRUCK. I THINK I’S AN AWESOME SITUATION TO BE AT THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME. REPORTER: TIM CAMPBELL SAYS HE PULLED OVER TO HELP WHEN HE SAW A SHOCKING SIGHT. >> I IMMEDIATELY YELLED OUT AND VERIFIED THAT THERE WAS AN INDIVIDUAL IN A HOLE THAT WAS UPSIDE DOWN, AND I MADE CONTACT WITH HER AND IMMEDIATELY CALLED 911. REPORTER: CAMPBELL SAYS HE USED HIS FLASHLIGHT TO LOOK DOWN THE HOLE. THAT’S WHEN HE COULD TELL THE WOMAN WAS STUCK. HE SAYS SHE WAS BEGGING FOR HELP, BUT STRUGGLING TO FIND WORDS. >> ONCE I IMMEDIATELY SEEN HER, I STARTED TALKING TO HER. AND SHE WAS IN DISTRESS AND REALLY WEAK-SOUNDING. AND I KNOW THAT SHE WAS IN PAIN. IT WAS A VERY AWKWARD SITUATION SHE WAS IN. SHE WASN’T ABLE TO TURN OR MOVE AT THAT POINT. REPORTER: SO HE DID WHAT HE WAS TRAINED TO DO, HELP. >> I SEARCHED MY TRUCK TO SEE IF I COULD FIND A ROPE OR SOMETHING TO ASSIST GETTING THE PERSON OUT AND THE OKLAHOMA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE ALONG WITH GAME WARDEN STAFF IN THE METRO AS WELL AS RURAL AREAS, WE’RE TRAINED FOR SITUATIONS LIKE THIS. REPORTER: AND WHEN HE DIDN’T HAVE THE TOOLS NEEDED TO SAVE HER, HE TURNED TO BEING A FRIEND, TELLING HER HELP WAS ON THE WAY. >> I STARTED TALKING TO HER, CALMING HER DOWN UNTIL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT CAME TO RENDER AID. REPORTER: HER LIFE SAVED BY A COUPLE ON A WALK AND A MAN IN THE RIGHT PLACE. THAT WOMAN WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SAID SHE WAS STABLE. A woman was found in a hole in Midwest City and rescued by firefighters.Sky 5 flew over the scene as firefighters rescued the woman, who claimed she fell in the hole on Tuesday. The woman said she was walking when she fell in headfirst."Our technical rescue crews were able to lasso a rope essentially around her and pull her up out of the hole," said Major David Richardson, MWC Fire Department.A 32-year-old woman said she was walking late Tuesday night when she stepped and fell in the hole. She screamed for hours until someone heard her."A couple was walking along the street, and they heard a woman yelling. Whenever they looked down the hole, they made contact with her," Richardson said.The couple immediately flagged down a game warden driving who called 911. Sky 5 was over the scene as crews pulled her out of the hole."We got her out. She appears to be fairly stable with no major injuries that we could detect immediately on scene but we’re sending her to the hospital for a full evaluation," Richardson said.Despite the freeze warning in the state overnight, officials said she was dressed for the weather."When we pulled her out she was dressed appropriately for the cold, had a jacket, but being down in that hole probably I would have guessed helped because it was probably more stable or moderate temperatures down there," Richardson said.Now, city officials are coming together to find out what the hole was from, why it was unmarked and how they can ensure safety in the future."It’s a very odd situation to have a hole in the ground like that. We’re trying to bring out multiple city crews out here at this time to figure out where the hole came from, is it a sinkhole, was it a contractor that drilled for a purpose. We don’t know why the holes there," Richardson said.
